Veterinary homeopathy, pet homeopathy for dog, cat...
|
Homeopathic drugs were developed from observations carried out by doctors on healthy humans.
However, they always found an application in veterinary medicine. As of 1833, a German practitioner, Guillaume Lux,
already treated a certain number of diseases in horses and cattle with four homeopathic drugs: Aconitum napellus,
Camphora, Nux vomica and Opium.
Since then, veterinary homeopathy has not stopped developing by applying the concepts of a holistic approach and
individuation used in human homeopathy to pets.
Pet homeopathy : increasing interest by professionals
The qualities of efficacy already observed with homeopathic drugs in human
medicine find similar applications in veterinary medicine.
Breeders and veterinarians now grant increasing value to homeopathy:
• Homeopathic treatment has the qualities of "restoring the balance of the diathesis"
; tested favourably by a great many breeders in family and industrial farms that use preventive homeopathy to improve animal production.
• Homeopathy can be used to
treat the animal without leaving behind residues, making it a non-toxic treatment for the animal as well as for the consumer of the meat
and the environment.
• The cost of treatment is generally low.

These advantages encourage certain high quality animal production industries (quality label whose specifications are strictly regulated)
to participate in the financing of research in veterinary homeopathy.
Specific to farm animals, this series of arguments furthers the experience of homeopathic veterinarians. With use, the latter note,
for example, that confronted with a baffling clinical picture, homeopathy renews the therapeutic strategy.
Homeopathic drugs and veterinary medicine: advantages similar to those observed in human medicine
Homeopathic drugs may be used in most animal species (farm animals or household pets), of all ages and also in gestating females.
The treatment may be prescribed alone or as a complement for an allopathic treatment (antibiotic, anti-parasite treatment, etc.).
Non-toxic and without adverse reactions, homeopathic drugs have the same advantages in veterinary medicine as in human medicine.
Most animal diseases can benefit from a homeopathic treatment. Homeopathy is of particular value in certain animal diseases: skin diseases, diseases of the nervous system, digestive diseases and those related to the ageing of the animal (rheumatism, metabolic disorders, etc.). As a general rule,
homeopathy may play a role in all disorders where the disease process is reversible, both for the treatment of attacks or recurrences.
As in human medicine, the limits of homeopathy should not be ignored:
parasites, fractures, foreign bodies, etc, are all cases that are not within the realm of its therapeutic possibilities.

First, because they are convinced of its efficacy, having on numerous occasions noted the efficacy on all species of animals. Second, to comply with the demand of pet owners,
themselves treated with homeopathy. The legal obligation of first resorting to homeopathy in biological farms may be added to this.

In small animals (dog, cat, new household pets, etc.),
allopathy is defective in a great many situations, either due to a lack of results or the risk of adverse reactions.
Take the case of chronic dermatitis of allergic or behavioural origin. Allopathy provides few results whereas with homeopathy, we solve about three out of five cases. The same is true of behaviour disorders such as fear, sexual excitement, aggressiveness. Effective minor tranquillisers do exist. However they "transform" the animal. Owners prefer a homeopathic treatment that is as effective but void of adverse reactions or addiction. The efficacy of homeopathy is often, and erroneously, reduced to a placebo effect. Obviously, this effect can not be used to account for the efficacy in animals. As in man, we treat them with an individualised approach. Racehorses are hypersensitive. The react very well to homeopathy. In industrial poultry farms, homeopathy provides
spectacular results in the treatment of stress, aggressiveness and biting (behaviour disorder where the animals pluck out their feathers).
An additional advantage of homeopathy is the lack of residues in the body of animals intended for human consumption.
