Spread of Homeopathy |
The Time of the Pioneers
Hahnemann trained numerous disciples who, having been won
over by the innovative aspect of this medicinal method, spread
it throughout Europe
and the entire world starting in 1810.

The catastrophes of the 19th century, as well as popular
movements, promoted the expansion of homeopathy. It was exported
by Austrian military physicians during the wars of the German
Empire in Italy. The struggle against major epidemics, cholera
in particular, would contribute to the spread of the method.

1830. The Italian Count Des Guidi, a political exile in France,
discovered and studied homeopathy in Italy. Upon returning
to Lyon, after having met Hahnemann in order to complete his
training, he introduced this new therapeutic method into his
current practice. He is recognized as the forefather of homeopathy
in France and would be at the origin of its spread among his
medical colleagues.
Since that time, working groups, schools, and
scientific societies have been created in France; they transmitted
and spread knowledge of this therapeutic method.
Thirty years after the appearance of "Essay on a New
Principle", homeopathy had spread to a large number of
countries.
